White uppers keep this kitchen bright; gray lowers and a blue hexagon backsplash give it color.
What we did
- Installed white upper and gray lower shaker cabinets with black pulls.
- Tiled the backsplash in blue-gray hexagon mosaic.
- Built an island with a marble-look quartz top and set matching counters.
- Fitted stainless appliances, a black faucet and a black ceiling light, with wood-look plank flooring through the open layout.
See our kitchen remodeling service for how we plan and build a kitchen.
Why two tones
Painting the uppers white and the lowers gray keeps an open kitchen bright at eye level while the darker base cabinets hide scuffs. The blue-gray hexagon backsplash adds color without competing with the bold veining of the marble-look quartz island. Black pulls and a black faucet carry one accent across the room. Wood-look plank flooring runs through the open layout, so the kitchen reads as part of the living space.
