Refinishing solid hardwood costs far less than replacing it, and this Doylestown floor shows why it is worth doing.
Floors
We sanded the old finish down to bare wood and applied a new finish that brings out the grain.

Why refinish instead of replace
Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished several times over its life, because the wear layer is the full thickness of the board. Sanding to bare wood removes scratches, gray patches and old yellowed finish in one pass, and a fresh topcoat seals the wood again. The result keeps the character of an older floor, costs a fraction of new flooring and avoids tearing out and hauling away the old boards.
